RWBY-SONA

Wouldn't life be so much better, if we were to live in a world of fairy tales?
Close your eyes, and drift off to a world that transcends reality. . .

RWBY-sona is a WIP project, constructive criticism is very much appreciated, as well as participants. Please mention or message @FateStainedRed if you would like to show interest in participating.
Taking place in the world that Persona takes place in, RWBY characters are to exist as they would if they were in the Persona verse.

Ruby Rose

Ruby Rose is your typical, normal girl with normal knees.

Ruby is American-Japanese, and understands both languages, more-so the latter.
I'm planning on having her move to Japan for what would be the start of the Persona-based story.

Ruby is a wannabe hero, aspiring to be like the heroes in entertainment mediums. When her parents lived together, she and Yang would play as the figures they lived together.
She does have friends, but she would tend to stick with her sister, Yang, who now lives overseas due to separation caused by relatives from Japan requiring the presence of her father, Taiyang.
Rather than going out and trying to hang out with the friends that she didn’t find herself as close to. Since they parted, Ruby tends to be on her smartphone (Brand assumed to be Scroll) for longer than she should be on it. She enjoys video-chatting with Yang whenever they get the chance.
Back home, she was on the track team, being quick on her feet and aerodynamic, but she isn't much in terms of upper-body strength.
She does rather well in terms of grades! Nothing spectacular, but she tends to get a mix between high-Cs to low-As.

She’s the type who wants to believe that there’s some good in everyone, and wants to give the majority the benefit of the doubt.

The Red Reaper.

Upon visiting The Other Side (WIP), Ruby’s wear changes into the Red Reaper, based on Red Riding Hood.

Her preferred weapon is a reaper’s scythe, which transforms into Crescent Rose, which functions similarly as it does in the show.

Being the Fool of RWBYSONA, Ruby wields the power of the Wild Card, giving her access to universal Personas that other Wild Cards can use, but her initial is her go-to.
Upon using her Personas, Crescent Rose loses its form during casting (Assumed to be the case for all RWBY-SONA weapons), rendering it unable to shift into Rose’s Thorn (Mun’s name for Crescent Rose’s naginata form), nor is it able to shoot bullets. It is assumed that the same will happen for all Persona-Users from this AU.

The Persona-influenced weapon's strength and boosts are determined by the weapon brought in, as is tradition in the Persona games.

Riding Hood.

The initial manifestation of Ruby’s soul is Riding Hood, a character that she loved since the story of Little Red Riding Hood was read to her.

Arcana: The Fool

Elements: Physical (Cut), Garu (Wind).

Resistant to: Garu (Wind)
Weak to: Mudo (Curse)

Learns skills that influence agility, and removes ailments/debuffs.

Semblance (Unique Passive) - Red Like Roses.

Attack skills leave traces of rose petals, Garu-skills are colored red instead of the traditional green. Not much practical use in combat.

One-Shot Kill - Riding Hood launches herself as if she were a rifle shot.
(Ma-)Garudyne - Multi-/single target Wind attack. Can be used to held Ruby fly through the air.
Agneyastra - Multi-hit move on a wide field.
Megidola - Based on Silver Eyes, Medium Almighty Attack.
(Ma-)Sukukaja - Agility buff for her and allies, but can be concentrated on her to give her speed like in the show.
Dekunda - Removes debuffs on team.
Energy Shower - Cures psyche-type ailments.

The Journey.

Ruby was a normal girl, though, without a father in the household, as her parents separated as her father had to act upon a matter with his relatives. Since then, Ruby has been separated from both her father and her sister, the latter willing to go because she didn’t want her father to feel lonely while on his trip, even if he was going to his family. Summer and Taiyang kept one child each, to show that even with distance, they had reason to never forget the result of their love. Both Ruby and her mother would keep in contact with those they were separated with over their time separated physically.

But one day, her mother would die (reasons undetermined), and Ruby would have to temporarily move from their home in Patch, to where her father and sister were residing in Vale, Japan. This visit will last about a year, as is the tradition in Persona titles.

The story takes place in a fictional locale located in Japan, based on RWBY’s primary setting in volumes 1-3.

Upon moving, Ruby would have to adjust to her new life, but upon doing so, she learns that rumors have recently surfaced about wonder drug known as Dust.

It’s been told that Dust is able to transport ones mind into their very own dream world. In reality, it leaves those who use it in a trance akin to that of Persona 3’s Apathy Syndrome.

After the use of Dust, the typical user is to forget the specifics of what they experienced upon use, but they remember the feeling of their dust-induced high.

Their memories are whisked way in a manifestation that is similar to Persona 5’s Mementos.

The Other Side.

A basis for RWBY’s Personas

[The image above merely serves as a base for those interested to base their Personas on.]

The Other Side (Name WIP) is this AU’s equivalent of Persona 3 Dark Hour/Tartarus, 5’s Mementos/Palaces, etc.

The forgotten memories of Dust-users collect in this area.

All Persona Users may use their Personas here, but those unique to this one have their own quirk.

Their Personas reside in the clothing they wear, along with their weapons. Upon visiting a space where their Persona can be summoned, these Persona Users will be dressed in their traditional wear, as shown in RWBY, and their weapons follow.
The Persona’s influence on their weapons is known as Persona Influence.
If the User summons their Persona, the weapon will shift back to what it was before being influenced, but retains the strength, seeing as the weapon is influenced by what was brought in.
For example: Ruby summons Riding Hood, Crescent Rose transforms into a homemade scythe she brought in, it’s still as strong, but she can’t shift its form, nor fire bullets.
Upon the Persona coming back, their normal weapon will transform back into their signature weapon.
To add, while the weapon is Persona-influenced, the show’s Semblances can be used by the User.
Along with this, their Personas grant them one additional pseudo-passive(?), unique skill.
This is a Semblance.
If a Persona is summoned, it can use the Semblance instead.
